The Events Team Leader plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences across Warwick Castle’s diverse programme of events. From weddings, banquets, conferences and themed dining experiences to seasonal attractions and live music concerts, this role is responsible for leading front-line event teams and supporting the successful delivery of a wide range of hospitality and entertainment events.

Working closely with the Events Manager, the Events Team Leader will supervise Event Hosts, coordinate event operations, and ensure the highest standards of customer service, presentation, and safety are maintained at all times. This is hands-on leadership role within a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

Lead, motivate, and support a team of Event Hosts during events and day-to-day operations

Conduct team briefings and allocate duties to ensure smooth event delivery

Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment

Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, excellent customer service, and a strong work ethic

Support the training of new team members

Assist managers with rota implementation and workforce coordination during events

Customer Service

Deliver exceptional guest service in line with company and venue standards

Provide a warm and professional welcome to all guests attending events

Respond positively and professionally to guest requests, enquiries, and complaints

Actively engage with guests to enhance their overall event experience

Resolve minor guest concerns and escalate more complex issues where appropriate

Support the smooth running of events whilst maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude

Food & Beverage Operations

Serve food and beverages to guests efficiently and professionally

Support table service operations, including clearing and resetting tables between courses

Oversees service standards and ensure guests receive prompt and efficient service

Operate bar facilities in accordance with company procedures and licensing requirements

Monitor stock levels during events and support replenishment activities where required

Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout service periods

Event Operations

Support the planning, setup, operation, and breakdown of event spaces and equipment

Coordinate event marshalling activities and assist with guest flow management

Ensure venues are prepared to the required standard before guest arrival

Provide operational leadership throughout events to ensure they run smoothly and efficiently

Support the delivery of weddings, conferences, banquets, concerts, corporate functions, and seasonal events

Assist with troubleshooting operational challenges and implementing solutions during live events

Adapt to varying event formats, business demands, and operational requirements

Support the management team in achieving event revenue, guest satisfaction, and operational targets

Health & Safety

Follow all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and company procedures

Maintain a safe environment for guests, colleagues, contractors, and performers

Ensure team members adhere to safe working practices and company standards

Report any hazards, incidents, accidents, or concerns promptly

Support compliance with responsible alcohol service standards

Support the venue’s commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation

Essential criteria:

Previous experience in hospitality, catering, events, or a customer facing environment

Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a team

Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for hospitality

Strong leadership and people management skills

Excellent awareness of food hygiene and health & safety standards

Ability to work efficiently and remain calm under pressure

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment

Willingness to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and seasonal event schedules

Must be aged 18 or over due to the nature of the role
