We are ranked as the third in the country for research, embedding education and training across the organisation. Our main hub is the Queen Alexandra Hospital, which is one of the largest hospitals on the south coast employing over 8,700 staff.

Our patients come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds because it makes our hospital stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for getting it right for patients, colleagues, and our community, you will find a home at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.

This tier of the rota works along side other FY2, ST1/2 and GP training ST1.

We have a wide range of services and are able to offer experience across the range of obstetrics and gynaecology including high risk pregnancy, maternal medicine, acute gynaecology, early pregnancy, urogynaecology, gynaecological oncology, endometriosis and robotic surgery. The day to day work will be in areas of maternity assessment unit, labour ward, postnatal, gynaecology emergency, theatres and early pregnancy assessment. There is opportunity to attend antenatal and gynaecology clinics (including ambulatory and colposcopy sessions).

We are also a University hospital linked to the University of Portsmouth, with active involvement in multicentre research trials supported by a dedicated research midwife and gynaecology research nurse.
