Job summary
Are you a Nurse and are looking for a new challenge, then the exciting and ever-growing speciality of Interventional Radiology may be just for you?
As an experienced practitioner the jobholder will co-ordinate activities within the peri-operative environment ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times, providing support to qualified and unqualified staff within the department.
He/she will play a key role in the assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
The jobholder will play an essential role assisting deputy/team leader in leading and teaching the peri-operative teams throughout the 24 hour period.
The jobholder will act as a role model, promoting quality evidence-based practice, developing the peri-operative team and ensuring effective management of the department in the absence of the deputy/team Leaders.

Main duties of the job
In order to carry out the job sufficiently and effectively you will have successfully attained and be able provide documented confirmation of all required interventional radiology competencies for the role as detailed in the addendum.
Alternatively, under Annex 21 working towards (up to a maximum of 2 years) undertaking the required training programme and competencies to enable you to undertake the role, you will be supported to develop an extensive range of competencies and specialist knowledge within the discipline through extensive practical experience, in house training and structured study and will continue to develop your skills and knowledge subject to the requirements of continuous professional development (CPD).
