Role description

Job summary

An opportunity has come available to join our compassionate, supportive and specialist team at FCAMHS for 12 months.

We are looking for a highly specialist Mental Health Practitioner to join our CAMHS service, providing expert assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions for children and young people with complex mental health needs. The postholder will work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting young people, families and carers, contributing to risk management, consultation, teaching, audit and service development

Main duties of the job

  • To provide detailed comprehensive written reports on a multi-disciplinary basis following the assessments

  • To provide specialist nursing input regarding clinical policy, case management and individual care planning to other services both inside and outside the health service who are working with this client group.

  • To deliver and develop specialised training regarding adolescent forensic mental health to other mental health professionals and to other professionals in probation, youth offending teams and social services who also work with young offenders.

  • To provide input regarding service development, and to develop clinical policies, procedures and set clinical standards to meet the needs of this client group both with the FCAMHS Team and across the Trust.
