Role description
Job summary
We are an ambitious organisation providing specialist palliative care services, completely free-of-charge, to patients and their families across a wide area stretching from Wrexham, Flintshire, and East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch. It costs £5.6m per year to run the Hospice, with only 20% of our funding provided by the government. Over 400 volunteers give their time to the Hospice helping us run efficiently and effectively as part of the local community. Nightingale House Hospice has 30 years experience of providing compassionate care and strive to see this continue for future generations.
Main duties of the job
To provide pre-bereavement and post bereavement support to children and young people under the age of 18 who are resident in the Hospice catchment area.
To deliver support appropriate to the age and ability of the child and young personin one-to-one and group settings.
To provide pre and post bereavement support to adults who are the significant others of patients known to Nightingale House Hospice.
To act as a resource for Hospice staff and those accessing Hospice services by offering specialist social work knowledge and skills.
To act at all times within own limitations of knowledge, expertise, and competence.
To participate in department and Hospice research and audit.
Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
To ensure all of the above are in accordance with all Nightingale House Hospice policies, procedures, and guidelines.
