About the Role

JGL is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Site Engineer to join our team in Luton, supporting the successful delivery of a key civil engineering project involving deep excavation, shaft and piling works.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer seeking to develop their career on a challenging infrastructure scheme. You will work closely with the Site Agent and Senior Engineer to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out setting out and surveying activities for all aspects of the works.

Ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

Monitor piling and excavation works, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.

Maintain accurate site records, quality inspections, and as-built information.

Support the management of subcontractors and specialist suppliers.

Assist in preparing work packs, permits, inspection and test plans, and RAMS.

Monitor progress against programme and report any issues or delays.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

Liaise with site management, designers, and client representatives.

Assist in implementing and monitoring temporary works.

Essential Requirements

Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering, infrastructure, or groundwork projects.

Experience with excavation, drainage, reinforced concrete, or piling works.

Strong setting out and surveying skills.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

CSCS Card.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable Experience

Deep excavation or shaft construction projects.

Piling and foundation works.

Temporary works implementation.

Experience using Leica or Trimble survey equipment.

SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.

First Aid at Work.

NEC contract awareness.
