Waterloo Medical Centre is seeking an enthusiastic, professional and patient-focused Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team.
As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring patients receive timely access to the most appropriate healthcare services. The role involves managing appointments, handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries, processing administrative tasks and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy GP practice.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a positive and flexible approach to work, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. Previous reception, administration or customer service experience is essential, and experience of working within a healthcare or GP practice setting would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job
The Receptionist will act as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a professional, friendly and efficient reception service. Duties include answering telephone calls, managing appointments, responding to patient enquiries, signposting patients to the most appropriate service, registering new patients and maintaining accurate patient records. The post holder will also undertake a range of administrative tasks to support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice while ensuring a high standard of customer service, confidentiality and compliance with practice procedures.
The successful candidate will work as part of a busy reception and administrative team, contributing to the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred services within a modern GP practice.
