Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Plumbing & Heating Engineer to join our Estates Team within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. You will support the safe and effective delivery of patient care by maintaining essential building services and mechanical systems across our sites.
This advert covers potential vacancies across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board's Pan-Gwent sites, namely Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny; Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport; Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, Caerphilly; and The Grange University Hospital, Cwmbran. Main duties of the job
As a Plumbing & Heating Engineer, you will:
Carry out planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance on a wide range of mechanical, plumbing, and heating systems.Diagnose and repair complex faults on plant, equipment, and building services.
Work on systems including:Heating and hot water systemsAir Handling Units (including theatre environments)Compressed air systemsSteam and pressurised systemsBMS controlsDomestic plumbing, sanitary ware, and drainage
Liaise with clinical and non-clinical staff to minimise disruption to patient areas.Participate in shift cover, shift relief, and/or on-call duties as required.Ensure compliance with HTMs, Water Regulations, ACOP L8, Health Board procedures and safe systems of work.Provide technical advice and support to colleagues, contractors, and apprentices.Maintain accurate records to support statutory compliance.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
