Are you ready to take the next step in your career, leading specialist Ophthalmology services with vision and impact? We are seeking an experienced and motivated nurse to join our dedicated Ophthalmology Outpatient team at Rotherham Foundation Trust in a senior leadership role. This post will be primarily based at the Rotherham Community Health Centre, with an expectation to work cross site within the Rotherham Foundation Trust, ensuring service delivery, continuity of care, and professional development. As Band 7 Sister, you will play a pivotal role in leading and co-ordinating outpatient Ophthalmology services, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients across a wide range of eye conditions, including emergency eye care and paediatrics.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

Provide visible, senior leadership and act as a role model for excellence in nursing practice.

Lead service development and pathway redesign, working collaboratively with consultants, nurses, and administrative colleagues to improve patient outcomes.

Drive clinical governance, audit, and compliance activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.

Support and empower staff through supervision, appraisals, and education, fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous professional development.

Work closely with the Matron, Leadership Team, and wider multidisciplinary colleagues to shape ophthalmology services and deliver person centred care.
