Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated senior nurse to join the care group management team as a matron (secondment for one year) .

The post holder will effectively lead and support the management of a variety of wards/departments including the acute oncology service, inpatient chemotherapy, oncology and haematology daycase chemotherapy, patients receiving radiotherapy, the apheresis service and the blood and marrow transplantation service.

Our inpatient services are provided in five ward areas totalling 113 beds.

There are two day case units for providing day treatments in an ambulatory setting as well an acute oncology service to provide care for those patients needing acute assessment and triage.

The outpatient clinics are provided in a number of locations across the trust including joint clinics with other specialties.

As a matron within the wider Trust team you will provide visible leadership with a focus on maintaining quality, embedding the Trust values and supporting staff wellbeing.
