Main duties of the job
As a Learning Disability Nurse at Farmfield Hospital, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to adult men with mental health illnesses, including personality disorders and substance misuse issues. You will ensure high-quality care for these individuals and assist colleagues to promote teamwork. Your daily responsibilities will include nursing care, assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, mentoring team members, and maintaining accurate records. You'll work in a dynamic and engaging environment with a focus on compassionate care, and have prospects for career development and wellbeing support.

What you will be doing
As a qualified RNLD, you will ensure people with enduring mental health illnesses such as personality disorder, substance misuse issues and behaviours that challenge receive high-quality care, while also supporting your colleagues and promoting positive teamwork.
The wards are busy, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, and a good amount of routine and variety. Your day-to-day will include:
Providing high-quality, effective and compassionate nursing care to service users
Being responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
Providing mentorship and support to team members
Observing, recording and reporting all service user changes, and maintaining accurate records of care provided
Skills and knowledge you will have:
A relevant nursing qualification
NMC registration
Strong team-working skills
A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach
A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate
A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice
You will be working at Farmfield Hospital, which is a large purpose-built medium-secure service with good facilities. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will provide care and support for adult men 18+ with a forensic background and enduring mental health illnesses such as personality disorder, substance misuse issues and behaviours that challenge.
Farmfield is located North West of Gatwick airport near the village of Hookwood, It is easiest to reach the site by car.
