Job summary
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Coventry and Rugby Heart Failure Nursing Team as a Band 6 Heart Failure Specialist Nurse on 9 month secondment or fixed-term. The post is 37.5 hours but other hours will be considered
The role will be primarily based atUniversity Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW), with opportunities for cross-site working atHospital of St Cross, Coventry Community Services, as well ashome visits and working from home.
The role will involve reviewing and clinically assessing patients with heart failure, providing specialist advice and recommending evidence-based therapies, including appropriate medications.
Applicants will need to hold a full driving licence and have access to a car to undertake the requirements of the role.
We are looking for applicants who have:
- Current Registered Nurse status and relevant post-registration experience.
- Essential knowledge and experience in the management of patients with heart failure.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- The ability to work autonomously as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT skills.
- A full driving licence and access to a car.
- Venepuncture and clinical assessment skills are desirable

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse with post-registration experience and a passion for delivering high-quality care to patients living with heart failure.
The successful candidate will be involved in the assessment, management and ongoing care of patients with heart failure across a variety of settings, including:
- Inpatient wards
- Virtual clinics
- Virtual ward
- Patients' homes
- Telephone consultations
The role will involve reviewing and clinically assessing patients with heart failure, providing specialist advice and recommending evidence-based therapies, including appropriate medications and cardiac devices.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
