Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our busy and well-established GP surgery.
This 20 hours per week permanent vacancy has become available following the planned retirement of a long-serving and valued member of our clinical team. We are therefore looking for someone who is enthusiastic, patient-focused and committed to delivering high-quality care.
Working alongside our GPs, nurses and wider multidisciplinary team, you will play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our patients.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will undertake a range of clinical duties including:
- Phlebotomy (venepuncture)
- Measuring blood pressure, height, weight and BMI
- ECG recordings
- NHS Health Checks
- New patient health checks
- Urinalysis and specimen management
- Supporting chronic disease monitoring clinics
- Infection prevention and control activities
- Stock monitoring and clinical room preparation
- Maintaining accurate patient records using the clinical system
