We are currently recruiting for a General Assistant to join our team at the High School of Dundee, DD4 7RG on a temporary maternity cover basis . This is a fantastic opportunity for a friendly and reliable individual who enjoys working with children and being part of a supportive catering team.

In this role, you'll help deliver a positive lunchtime experience for nursery children, supporting food service while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer care.

What you'll be doing

Assisting with the preparation and service of nursery lunches for children aged 3-5 years old

Setting up, laying, and clearing dining tables

Providing a friendly and positive service during meal times

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness within dining and service areas

Assisting with washing up and general kitchen duties as required

Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures

Supporting the wider catering team with daily operations

About you

Experience within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment

Excellent communication skills and a friendly approach

Flexible and willing to support the needs of the team

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards

Reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic attitude

Important Requirements

Successful candidates will be required to obtain a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme membership/check prior to commencing employment.

This position is offered as a temporary maternity leave vacancy .
