Main duties of the job

Provide strategic clinical leadership, fostering a culture focused on patient safety, quality and outstanding outcomes. Partner with the Hospital Director, Executive Team and consultant body to deliver the hospital's clinical strategy and Annual Operating Plan. Lead the development and continuous improvement of clinical services, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth. Ensure excellence in clinical governance, regulatory compliance, infection prevention and information governance, acting as both Director of Infection Prevention and Control (DIPC) and Caldicott Guardian. Lead workforce planning, performance, engagement and professional development across clinical teams. Drive transformational change while balancing clinical priorities with operational performance and financial sustainability. Build strong relationships with consultants and key stakeholders, influencing at both executive and senior clinical level. Deputise for the Hospital Director when required.
