Job summary
The Digital E-Learning Developer is a specialist role within Group Digital Services, responsible for designing, developing and maintaining high-quality digital learning solutions to support the adoption of digital systems across the UHL Group. Working within the Clinical Leadership (CxIO) and Digital Pharmacy portfolios, the postholder will play a key role in delivering innovative and user-centred learning resources that enable staff to effectively use systems such as Electronic Patient Records (EPR) and associated technologies.
The role contributes to the delivery of a modern, digitally enabled workforce aligned to the Group Strategy, supporting the ambition to create a digitally confident workforce and improve patient outcomes through effective training and capability development. Education and training are central to achieving this ambition, including the development of simulation-based and digital learning approaches to support workforce transformation and lifelong learning.
Main duties of the job
Create engaging, accessible and high-quality e-learning content that supports clinical and operational workflows, ensuring staff are equipped to adopt new digital systems. This supports the Digital Learning and Development function which delivers blended learning, simulation and digital literacy campaigns across the Group.
Apply user-centred design principles to ensure learning solutions meet workforce needs and improve usability, accessibility and engagement. Digital services must be designed around user needs to drive adoption and deliver measurable outcomes in workforce capability and service improvement.
Embed learning solutions within programme delivery, including EPR and Digital Pharmacy initiatives, ensuring training aligns with implementation timelines and change management activity. Training should support structured programme delivery through defined needs analysis, course development and continuous improvement processes.
Support a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating learning effectiveness, incorporating feedback and utilising data to refine training approaches. This aligns to national expectations for iterative development, testing and improvement of digital services and products.
