Job summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Data Quality and Medical Secretary to join our Practice Team within a busy GP practice environment. You will work with a diverse patient population and liaise regularly with GPs, clinicians, hospitals, community services and administrative colleagues to support the delivery of safe and effective patient care. As part of the wider PICS team, you will benefit from a supportive network of healthcare professionals and opportunities to develop your knowledge of primary care systems, data quality processes and medical administration.
Main duties of the job
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain accurate patient records by processing clinical correspondence, coding information, summarising records and supporting data quality audits to ensure practice and NHS standards are met.
Manage referrals, patient recalls and information requests, working closely with GPs, clinicians, hospitals and community services to deliver an efficient and responsive patient journey.
Provide comprehensive medical secretarial and administrative support, including managing practice emails, processing online access requests and supporting the effective day-to-day running of the practice.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Good standard of general education, including English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
Excellent IT, keyboard and communication skills, with the ability to accurately manage data and work to deadlines.
Previous experience in an administrative or customer service environment, with strong organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
