Job summary
We are seeking an experiencedConsultant Psychiatristto join a unique and highly valued specialist service established in response to theCambridge University Hospital's Paediatric Orthopaedic Incident and ongoing review of the surgeon's work The Orthopaedic Psychological Support Service (OPSS) provide by CPFT, supports children, young people, adults, and families affected by the orthopaedic incident at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, and ongoing clinical review. It provides emotional support to people who may have had difficult healthcare experiences. Listening with compassion and understanding, and support individuals and their families in a way that is sensitive to their needs and experiences.

This flexible role offers up to0.4 WTE, with opportunities to contribute the full commitment or provide a smaller number of sessions alongside an existing substantive, academic or portfolio post.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will provide specialist psychiatric assessment, formulation, treatment, consultation and risk management for children, young people, adults, family members and staff affected by the incident. The post includes multidisciplinary working with psychologists and other professionals, alongside opportunities to contribute to service development, governance, quality improvement and evaluation.We are looking for psychiatrists with GMC registration and a licence to practise, who are on the Specialist Register (or within six months of CCT) and have experience in complex mental health assessment and trauma-informed care. Experience in liaison psychiatry, CAMHS, psychological medicine or healthcare-related trauma would be advantageous.
