Job summary

We are an established, dynamic, flexible and friendly team of 12 Diagnostic Neuroradiologists.

This new consultant DNR consultant post is based at the Charing Cross Hospital site of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.There will be rotational session at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust (approximately 1 per month).

The post has been created to support the increase in diagnostic Neuroimaging and is suitable for those who have undertaken subspecialty training in diagnostic neuroradiology. We would welcome those with additional imaging guided spinal injection skills and or a subspeciality interests in paediatrics.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be involved with all aspects of diagnostic Neuroradiology work, which will include the reporting of relevant CT and MR examinations including advanced physiological imaging. The candidate will be expected to support clinical pathways through the preparation and delivery of subspecialty MDT meetings. Out of hours the team contribute to a 1:10 consultant on call rota, which is performed off site. There is a mature remote reporting solution to support the on-call provision, and where appropriate, limited weekday remote working is possible.

There is the opportunity to contribute to the teams delivering image guided spinal injections and paediatric neuroradiology.

Teaching is fully embedded with the department. All consultants are expected to provide clinical supervision for inhouse and rotating specialist trainees. This can extend to formal educational supervisor roles.

Research is strongly encouraged and the department has a dedicated research team which can help facilitate research interests.

Essential

  • On GMC's register with a Licence to Practice or eligible to apply for GMC registration and a Licence to Practice
  • On GMC's Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the register by the date of the interviews or eligible for specialist registration
  • Appropriate Royal College Membership (FRCR or equivalent)

Knowledge/skills

Essential

  • Formal subspecialty training in Neuroradiology or substantial consultant experience in a dedicated neurosciences centre.
  • Use of Physiological imaging for diagnostic assessment
  • Experience in running tertiary referral MDTs
  • IT Skills and computer literacy

Academic achievements including research/publications
