Role description

Job summary

The Phlebotomy service is pleased to be able to offer fixed term contracts of 12 months working as a Phlebotomist in the community to cover planned maternity leave.

The service provides community venepuncture and near patient testing for housebound patients within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Our fixed term contracts will commence in October / November where full support and training will be provided, working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00 14.00. Main duties of the job

You will need to be a good team player with excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative and prioritise your work effectively.

The primary responsibilities for the post holder would be to:

  • Collect and process venous blood samples / various basic observations for house-bound community patients.
  • Conducting INR / NPT within Trust policy and guidelines to house-bound community patients.
  • Work autonomously and be a car driver and owner.

The Phlebotomy service uses an electronic patient record system called SystmOne and experience of working on this system would be advantageous; however, the required training will be provided to successful candidates.
