Job summary
We are seeking Midwives with a passion for working in the Community setting,

We pride ourselves on providing, holistic, evidence based care for the 7000 families we work with each year over the large geographical area covered by the trust and support our community staff to work in environments that best suit their skill set from the inner city to rural areas.
We are delighted to be able to offer a choice of birth environments and are able to support birthing people to deliver their babies where they wish, at home, in a midwifery led unit or in hospital.
This role includes an on call commitment to support our homebirth service for which we will provide all the training and support you need.

Main duties of the job
Providing evidence based antenatal and postnatal care within the community setting, following local and national guidance.
Having a good knowledge of safeguarding and working within a multidisciplinary team.
Supporting women with choice to birth at home.
Providing education and support for pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period within a varied framework ie. face to face, sign posting to internet based support and external agencies where appropriate.
Team working including a pro rata on call commitment.
Managing a caseload of birthing people and their families, taking responsibility for all aspects of their care, referring appropriately and working towards a model of continuity of care as outlined in Better Births (2016).
