Job summary
We are in an exciting position to be able to advertise for a community mental health nurse. We are seeking a mental health nurses who is looking to be at the forefront of future healthcare and integrated working for the older adult population, working within the Specialist Mental Health Services for Older People. As a multi-disciplinary team we provide holistic assessment and treatment pathways for older adults, and people with mental health and frailty needs. Our service provides seamless pathways between primary care and secondary care services for people with functional mental illness, and also dementia care.
As a team, we can offer multi-disciplinary support from Clinical Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, as well as Mental Health Nurses. We also provide regular CPD sessions, reflective practice, staff support sessions, individual and group supervisions, and academic training, as well as access to external training resources.
Newly registered Band 5 community nurses are supported in their transition from student to nurse through a 12 month preceptorship programme.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality care to older adults experiencing mental health difficulties. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care and achieving positive outcomes for service users and their families.
Based in Welwyn Garden City, the team provides services across the East Hertfordshire locality, working collaboratively with health, social care and voluntary sector partners to support older adults with complex mental health needs.
