Role description

Job summary

The post holder will provide high-quality administrative support across the colorectal cancer pathway and Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathways, ensuring patients are appropriately tracked, monitored and progressed in line with national standards and Trust requirements.

The role is responsible for supporting the effective coordination and administration of patient pathways, maintaining accurate and timely records, identifying potential delays or breaches, and escalating issues appropriately to clinical and operational teams. The post holder will work closely with consultants, cancer performance team, centralised services and other administrative colleagues to ensure continuity of care and timely progression of patients.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide administrative support across colorectal cancer and RTT pathways, ensuring patients are accurately tracked and progressed.
  • Monitor waiting lists, identify potential delays and breaches, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient pathway information and undertake regular validation.
  • Liaise with consultants, specialist teams, centralised services and administrative colleagues to resolve pathway issues.
  • Manage competing priorities within a time-sensitive environment, ensuring deadlines and national standards are met.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider administrative and operational teams to maintain continuity of service
