Aramark UK are currently recruiting for a Chef to join our team at Askham Bryan
College, YO23 3FR. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and
passionate chef looking for a fantastic work-life balance, with a Monday to Friday,
term-time-only role that leaves evenings and school holidays largely free.
As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals
while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing, cooking, and presenting meals to a high standard
• Assisting with menu delivery and food production
• Ensuring food is prepared in line with dietary requirements and company
standards
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
• Supporting stock control, stock rotation, and food storage procedures
• Completing relevant food safety and due diligence paperwork
• Working collaboratively with the wider catering team
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
• Delivering excellent service to students, staff, and visitors
• Previous experience working as a Chef or in a similar catering role
• Passion for producing high-quality food
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Positive and flexible approach to work
• Enhanced DBS check required
• Safeguarding checks required
• Must have the legal right to work in the UK
