Hours: As and when required

Contract: Casual, Zero Hour Contract, Term Time Only

Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour

We are currently recruiting for a friendly and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at New College Pontefract . What you'll be doing

Assisting with the preparation and serving of food and beverages

Providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors

Operating tills and handling transactions accurately

Supporting the kitchen and front of house teams during busy service periods

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout catering areas

Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and service areas

Assisting with stock replenishment and delivery checks where required

Following food safety, allergen, and health & safety procedures at all times

Supporting the wider catering team with day-to-day operational requirements

A positive and customer-focused attitude

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to work effectively in a busy environment

Reliable and flexible approach to work

Good attention to detail and commitment to high standards

Previous catering, hospitality, or customer service experience is desirable but not essential

Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training

Commitment to delivering excellent customer service

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain an Enhanced DBS check .
