Job summary
This is a role for a Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist to lead and develop Later Life Psychology Services within Wiltshire Psychological Therapies Service. You will provide strategic, professional and clinical leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care for older adults across Wiltshire.
This role combines leadership with direct clinical practice, management and supervision of psychology staff, specialist supervision, and professional leadership to psychology colleagues across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire. Alongside maintaining a specialist clinical caseload, you will offer expert consultation and advice to multidisciplinary teams, service users, carers, and partner organisations.

Main duties of the job
As Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist, you will help to shape, develop and support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based psychological care for older adults. You will lead service development initiatives that support the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan as outlined in the Community Mental Health Framework for Adults and Older Adults.
The post combines senior leadership with expert clinical practice. You will manage and support a team of psychology professionals and maintain a highly specialist caseload involving complex psychological and neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention.
You will play a key role in service improvement, quality assurance and clinical governance. The role also includes leading and supporting research, service evaluation and audit activities to promote innovation and improve outcomes for older adults.
In addition, you will contribute to workforce development through teaching, training and supporting the development of psychology staff, trainees and the wider multidisciplinary workforce.
