Main duties of the job
To assist Biomedical Scientists in the provision of an efficient and effective Clinical Microbiology service.
To perform routine diagnostic laboratory tests, after appropriate training and assessment and under the direction of a registered biomedical scientist, accurately recording and reporting results.
To perform molecular testing and daily running of molecular suite, after appropriate training and assessment and under the direction of a registered biomedical scientist, accurately recording and reporting results.
To participate in the training of other laboratory groups as appropriate.
Required to work one day (or equivalent) every fourth weekend and participate in the early shift, late shift, and potentially night shift rotas as part of contractual hours. May be required to cover shifts at short notice.
