We’re looking for an ambitious Assistant Manager to join the team at The Green Man in Harlow – a beautiful, historic country pub with plenty going on.

Originally a 14th-century coaching inn, The Green Man combines traditional character with a busy food and drink operation. With 58 bedrooms, a beer garden, countryside surroundings and a menu packed with pub classics and seasonal dishes , this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves creating memorable experiences for guests.

What you'll be doing

As Assistant Manager, you’ll be a key part of the leadership team, working closely with the General Manager to keep the pub running brilliantly.

You’ll be:

Leading and inspiring the team to deliver great service every time

Making sure our guests receive a warm welcome and have a brilliant experience

Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the business

Helping drive sales, standards and commercial performance

Coaching and developing your team to reach their potential

Taking ownership of shifts and making sure everything runs smoothly

Maintaining high standards across service, food, safety and compliance

Building strong relationships with both your team and our guests

What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who is confident, hands-on and passionate about hospitality .

You’ll ideally have experience in a supervisory or management role within a busy pub, restaurant or hospitality environment, and be ready to take the next step in your career.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who:

Leads from the front and brings energy to every shift

Cares about delivering a great guest experience

Knows how to motivate and develop a team

Is commercially aware and understands what makes a successful pub

Can stay calm and make good decisions in a busy environment
