Job summary
The Admissions and Pre-assessment unit are seeking an enthusiastic Senior receptionist/administration. This post is vital to the smooth running of the APU service and clinics. You will work in a busy environment, providing a reception service for patients and relatives. The role also includes preparing relevant documentation for patient appointments and providing co-ordinating support for APU clinics. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, you should possess excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and organisational skills. Keyboard/IT skills are essential, and hospital experience is desirable. Main duties of the job
- The post holder is an integral member of the APU Department. The post holder will coordinate all administrative aspects of the APU Services including patient communication, reception, scheduling and clerical duties.
- Ensuring that appointments are scheduled in an efficient and timely manner, so that results can be made available to fit with the patient's pathway.
- The post holder will provide cover for the APU reception desk and will be required to handle enquiries from patients, their careers and Trust and non-Trust staff in person or by telephone/post.
- The post-holder will liaise with a variety of staff throughout the Trust. This will predominantly involve Chelsea APU staff as well as staff. In addition, there will be contact with Anaesthetic Consultants and admissions coordinators throughout the Trust, in addition to other Health Services.
