Five UK sites specialise in jobs from employers that hold a sponsor licence: Tarve, Hunt UK Visa Sponsors, SkilledJobs, SponsorMap and Work Visa Sponsors. All five build on the same public source, the Home Office Register of Licensed Sponsors, and differ in how many jobs they carry, how they check them, whether they tell you if the salary meets the visa rules, and what they charge. This comparison uses each site's own published figures as shown on its homepage on 29 October 2026, plus the official gov.uk register as the baseline every site should be measured against.

What the differences mean in practice
Job volume is not the same as sponsorable jobs
A large count usually means the site collects every advert from licensed employers, including roles below the skill or salary level a visa needs. Hunt UK Visa Sponsors is open about this and labels each job with a likelihood rating. Tarve and SkilledJobs carry fewer jobs because each one is checked against the going rate for its occupation code before it is listed; a job that cannot meet the salary rules is not shown as sponsorable. If you want breadth, the larger lists are useful; if you want to apply only where the numbers work, the checked lists save time.
How the sponsor match is made
Every site starts from the same gov.uk spreadsheet, but matching a job advert to a register entry is the hard part: trading names differ from legal names, groups have many entities, and a licence can disappear overnight. Tarve links each job to a company record that is in turn linked to the register entry (by Companies House number where available), and re-checks the register every day; SkilledJobs also matches to Companies House; Hunt UK Visa Sponsors syncs daily and shows the employer's visa-issuance history; SponsorMap refreshes weekly. Whichever site you use, check the employer on the register before you accept an offer.
Salary verdicts
The most common reason a sponsored application fails is pay below the going rate. Tarve and SkilledJobs show whether each job clears the rule for its SOC code; SponsorMap gives you a checker to run yourself; Hunt UK Visa Sponsors folds pay into its likelihood rating. For the rules behind the verdicts, see the salary threshold guide and calculator.
Free, freemium or subscription
SponsorMap and Work Visa Sponsors are free. SkilledJobs lets you read everything and charges for apply links. Hunt UK Visa Sponsors and Tarve use membership: Hunt holds back the newest jobs for members, Tarve gives everything for 14 days on a card-required trial and then charges monthly. Tarve's public job pages, employer pages, the register directory and the Chrome extension are free without an account.
How to choose
- You want the widest net: start with Hunt UK Visa Sponsors, then verify the salary rule for each job.
- You only want jobs that already clear the visa rules: Tarve or SkilledJobs.
- You browse LinkedIn and Indeed anyway: install the Tarve or Work Visa Sponsors extension so the sponsor check happens on the page you are reading.
- You are in health and care: SkilledJobs lists the most health and care roles; the NHS trusts guide covers the trusts directly.
- You want to check one employer: any of the sponsor searches, or the gov.uk register itself.
Frequently asked questions
Which UK job site only lists visa-sponsored jobs?
Tarve, Hunt UK Visa Sponsors, SkilledJobs, SponsorMap and Work Visa Sponsors all restrict listings to employers on the Home Office register. They differ in whether each job is also checked against the salary rules: Tarve and SkilledJobs do that per job.
Is there a free site for UK visa sponsorship jobs?
Yes. SponsorMap and Work Visa Sponsors are free. SkilledJobs is free to read. Tarve's job pages, employer pages and extension are free; the full application tools are on a 14-day trial, then a subscription.
How do I know a job on these sites will actually sponsor me?
You cannot know from a listing alone. A licence shows the employer may sponsor; the decision is theirs. The practical checks are: the employer is on the register today, the job's SOC code is eligible, and the salary clears the going rate and the £41,700 threshold (or a reduced rate you qualify for). Sites that show a per-job verdict do the second and third checks for you.
Where do these sites get their data?
From the gov.uk Register of Licensed Sponsors: Workers, plus job adverts collected from employer career pages, hiring systems and job boards. The register is the only authoritative source for licence status.
The Tarve team researches UK visa sponsorship directly from official gov.uk and Home Office sources — the register of licensed sponsors, the Immigration Rules, and published salary and going-rate data — to produce clear, regularly updated guides for international professionals. Tarve is an independent information and job-search service, not a regulated immigration adviser.
Figures and rules on this page are taken from official gov.uk and Home Office publications and were last verified on 2 November 2026. Tarve is an independent information and job-search service, not a regulated immigration adviser: guidance here is for information only, and you should always confirm the current rules on gov.uk.
